Program Description:  The Online Child Care Administrator’s Credential provides professional recognition for early childhood professionals seeking to acquire certification in the management of a child care center in Texas. Each student is assigned to a state licensed instructor who will guide them every step of the way.  Assignments can be submitted online or mailed via the U.S. Postal Service as completed.  Once the course has been satisfactorily completed, the Child Care Administrator’s Credential will be mailed to the candidate and is valid for 3 years from the date issued.

Program Topics:  The Online Child Care Administrator’s Credential program focuses on the core areas of competency required by State Licensing to manage a child care center.
    • Principles of child growth and development
    • Safe, healthy, learning environments
    • Positive guidance techniques to support  social and emotional development
    • Effective and productive relationships between family, community and school
    • Observation documentation of children, staff and the child care program
    • Principles of Administration
    • Personnel management and staff development
    • Meeting Texas Minimum Standards
    • Strategies to effectively manage a child care center

Enrollment Requirements:
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
    • Must have access to a computer and printer
    • Must have a valid email address
    •  Must have access to the Internet through a JavaScript enabled web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher, etc.)
    • Must be able to speak, read, and write well enough in the language the course is presented in to understand and complete the course material.
